Dr. Georg M. Sprinzl is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and leader of the hearing implant team. Dr. Sprinzl is the Vice Head of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in Innsbruck, where he focuses on surgery of cochlear implantation and active middle ear implants, stapes surgery as well as on neuro-otologic and oncologic skull base surgery. Dr. Sprinzl was trained in Austria as well as in Germany and developed a continuing education program for surgeons involved in cochlear implantation and middle ear implant surgery. As a principal investigator of several clinical trials in the field of hearing implants, Dr. Sprinzl has a special interest in the topics of sound localization and speech perception in bilateral users as well as on elderly patients suffering from presbycusis.
