Dr. Tahir SaeedPhD
About the Doctor
Dr. Tahir has a vast experience in working at a senior level as a clinical psychologist with a diverse group of clients that include adults and children. He received his PhD from the Department of Psychology at the National University of Maynooth in Ireland, and his Masters Degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from the Department of Psychology at the University College Cork in Ireland. He recently moved to Abu Dhabi from the Republic of Ireland where he was working with children having neurodevelopmental disorders. He also received a certificate in Child Neuropsychology from Netherlands which helped him understand the link between neurology and its impact on children's emotional, social and cognitive development.
He has a specialized training in assessment and intervention with regard to children presented with neurodevelopmental disorders that include Autism Spectrum (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and Specific Learning Disorder (SLD), etc. He also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and uses these skills with children and adults. In addition, he uses various behavioural management modalities to address challenging behaviours among children, adolescents and adults.
During his stay with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as a psychologist for almost 11 years, Dr. Tahir had the opportunity to get an extensive training in personality assessments, cognitive assessment, test development, guidance and counselling. He also had the opportunity to teach the post graduate level at the Department of Psychology in the University of Peshawar. In Ireland, he supervised a number of doctoral level clinical psychologists in training from the Universities of Limerick and Galway. He also supervised staff grade clinical/educational psychologist for a number of years within his service in Ireland.
