About the Doctor

Dr. Uday Shankar has more than 15 years of experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery and has performed more than 250 successful bariatric procedures. He provides different types of surgeries such as laparoscopic bariatric, metabolic surgery and laparoscopic hernia surgery.

Dr. Shankar completed general surgery training from the prestigious National Board of Examination, and received his special training in revisional bariatric surgery for weight regain after weight loss surgery from Dukes University in USA. He also completed training in advanced laparoscopic surgery from the Institute for Research into Cancer of the Digestive System in France.
Dr. Shankar worked as a tutor and consultant at the Christian Medical College and Hospital in India which is one of the largest tertiary hospitals and medical colleges in India.
